The Schneider Polariser Filter is specifically designed to minimize reflections and glare caused by polarized light reflecting off non-metallic surfaces. This type of light, which results from sunlight reflecting off air molecules, contributes to haze and scattered light. By arranging and filtering the polarized light perpendicular to the reflected light, this polarizing filter effectively reduces glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces while enhancing the saturation of skies and foliage.
Unlike linear polarizers, circular polarizers include a quarter wave plane in addition to the linear polarizing filter. This quarter wave plane circularly polarizes the linearly polarized light, allowing for the use of auto focus and exposure functions. Linear polarizers can sometimes disrupt the accuracy of these features due to the breakdown and filtering of light. However, circularly polarized light ensures the proper functioning of auto focus and exposure.
